Dr. Jesse A. Rabinowitz, Ph.D., L.C.P.

Dr. Rabinowitz received his M.S. and Ph.D. in clinical psychology at Virginia Commonwealth University in 1985 and his B.A. in psychology and theatre at SUNY-Binghamton in 1979. He has trained in psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal, existential, gestalt and spiritual approaches to psychotherapy. He has practiced as a clinical psychologist in Richmond since 1987.

Dr. Rabinowitz has special interests in spirituality, gay and lesbian issues and men's and women's issues. He also specializes in teaching mindfulness skills, which are powerful techniques for decreasing suffering, anxiety, depression, anger resulting in increasing peacefulness and self-esteem. Dr. Rabinowitz's professional strengths include flexibility, sensitivity, and a non-dogmatic approach to peoples' issues. He works with clients where they are in life's journey, seeing each person as unique. He also has a theatre background and enjoys helping people maximize their creativity.

Dr. Rabinowitz has published numerous articles and spoken on spirituality, therapy, politics, psychology and managed care. He works with adult individuals.
